The pump can be used for fresh water or salt water.
The impeller is missing a white washer at the front which is used as a spacer on the ceramic shaft and its missing the front face that covers the impeller. The body has some broken plastic that doesn't affect how the pump works you can see in the pictures with the back off that its still sealed. It measures about 5 x 5 x 4.
I did test it with parts from a second pump i'm selling. The pump is used and does show signs of normal wear. It does not come with a venture or a needle wheel impeller.
This is a used pump it does work if you replace the missing parts. It can be used as a power head to move water or in a pond. It has a standard impeller. I have been told and i'm not positive but the impeller is the same as the ksp 5000.
